It seems almost certain that the devastating floods that have ravaged Pakistan since late July are going to have a severe and long-lasting impact on Pakistan’s already fragile and mismanaged economy.

The floods have decimated Pakistan’s most potent and fertile agricultural land, along the banks of the Indus River, they have destroyed a large share of the livestock population, and they have left more than 4 million people entirely homeless. The number of people affected now exceeds 20 million….

  1. Where is the outpouring of aid from Saudi Arabia, Iran, Jordan, Lidya, Kuwait, Malaysia, Indonesia and other Muslim countries?

  2. Dear Mosharraf
Your article as to why there is no outpouring of aid from Western nations is as follows
    - The aid will be diverted by the corrupt politicians .
    - The ISI will ship off the aid to the Taliban and the Taliban will distribute it to the flood victims as if the aid was from the Taliban

How come other fellow muslim countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Indonesia etc come forward to help with the billions of dollars that they earn every year from the oil.

It is unfortunate that the innocent people are suffering. But Pakistan must change it image a the bad boy in the neighborhood who has been a pariah for so long.

Therefore do not expect pity as the western world equate Pakistan to be aiding and abetting terrorism

  3. Whilst most of the world watch the disaster unfold
and we see the anguish on the faces of the people
it is always the people who suffer because of the corruption in Pakistan and other Muslim Countries. I have had first hand experience of this aid money disappears into the hands of those that direct UN is no better is why UN is bankrupt
2 years ago money for 170 schools in Pakistan disappeared, some were built 150 remain to be built
our equipment we sent to do this project is laying idle
we could supply many houses now but i doubt if the money donated for aid will ever reach the people

    i wish them well

  6. the truth is that no matter what this is not a debate over what the government of today or the past have acted, what matters is that at the moment it is a plain call to the humanity to stand up for people who need help, and forget all the prejudices against the government, this is not the fault of any human, it is a natural disaster which has happened of its own accord. No blame can be put on the civil government or the army, but if no aid or little of it comes in then we will be able to blame someone and that would be the humanity for not rising to the occasion and not helping, no matter what the country is all about or how controversial the country is people need to be helped and help should come.

  7. This is Allah(SWT) punishment to Pakistan for creating a nuclear bomb. Muslims should not follow the path of Kufar.
